VocoTV · Chromecast & Google TV
Chromecast IPTV setup has two routes: install a native player on Chromecast with Google TV, or cast from a compatible mobile app to a casting-only Chromecast. Identify your model first. This guide helps UK viewers choose the correct route, enter VocoTV access details and check local-network discovery.
Chromecast with Google TV installs compatible TV apps directly. Casting-only Chromecast models receive media from a supported phone or tablet app and do not use the Google TV app-installation workflow. Identify the model before choosing the player.
For platform details, consult Google Cast requirements.
Chromecast with Google TV supports direct installation of compatible TV apps. Casting-only Chromecast models rely on a supported source app on another device. Use the workflow for the model you own rather than treating all Chromecast products as interchangeable.
These models have a remote and a Google TV home screen. Install a compatible television app directly on the device, then navigate it with the remote. Confirm whether you own the HD or 4K model.
Earlier Chromecast models and Chromecast Ultra use a compatible source device to start playback. Install and configure the player on your phone or tablet, then use its supported Cast function. You cannot follow Google TV app-installation steps on these receivers.
Check the model in your device information or packaging rather than guessing from the television brand. Software support and app compatibility can change on older equipment. Confirm current manufacturer support before relying on an older receiver for a new setup.
For broader platform instructions, use our IPTV installation guide. A television with Google Cast built in may have different native app options from a separate Chromecast.
The player must support your VocoTV access format and the way you want to watch. Android TV compatibility and Google Cast compatibility are different features.
Check Hot Player first, followed by IBO Player Pro. Use the exact developer’s TV version and review its fees. Our Hot Player setup guide and IBO Player setup guide explain playlist entry.
TiviMate and Smarters Pro are alternatives where supported. Compare their interfaces and licence requirements before activating.
Choose a mobile player that explicitly supports Google Cast for your content. Confirm that it can open your playlist and send the selected stream to your receiver. A generic screen-sharing button or an AirPlay-only feature is not enough.
Test channel changes and audio, not just whether the device appears in the list.
Separate purchases: a player licence, a casting feature upgrade and your VocoTV subscription may have different costs and terms. Check what is included before paying.
Chromecast setup begins by choosing the correct route: a Google TV app or a Cast-enabled source app. Prepare the devices and network, install the appropriate player, add the assigned access details in that player and test the actual TV playback method.
For Chromecast with Google TV / Google TV Streamer, install an app on the device. A cast-only Chromecast has no app-installation screen; install a compatible casting app on your phone instead and follow the casting section below.
Choose one TV player: TiviMate on Google Play or Smarters Pro for Android TV. Open the listing on the TV, select Install, then Open. Check compatibility and any separate player fee.
Optional APK route on compatible Android TV / Google TV: install Downloader by AFTVnews from the device’s store. When Android requests it, allow Install unknown apps for Downloader only. Open its URL/code box, enter an app code, select Go, then Install. Turn that permission off afterwards.
Enter the code for the app you want: HotPlayer 395800; TiviMate 272483; IBO Player Pro / IbPro Player 481220. These are app download codes, not IPTV login codes. Choose one player.
Official download sources: HotPlayer official downloads; TiviMate; IBO Player Pro. Check the displayed publisher and destination before installing. If a code changes, use the developer’s download link.
The instructions below are for TiviMate on an Android TV / Google TV device. If you installed Smarters Pro instead, follow the Smarters Pro login steps. For a cast-only Chromecast, add the playlist in your compatible phone app and use its Cast control; do not look for TiviMate settings on the Chromecast.
Open TiviMate → Add playlist. If you already have a playlist, open Settings → Playlists → Add playlist. Choose M3U playlist or Xtream Codes to match what VocoTV sent.
If you received one long M3U link: choose the playlist URL / M3U option. Enter VocoTV as the playlist name and paste the entire link into Playlist URL. Do not split it into username and password fields.
If you received three Xtream Codes details: select Xtream Codes or the supported server-login option. Copy Server URL → server/address field, Username → username field and Password → password field. If a name is requested, use VocoTV. Keep the supplied http/https and port; do not paste an M3U link into the server field.
Select Next, wait for the playlist to process, name it VocoTV and finish the prompts. If a separate EPG URL is requested, use the one provided by support; it is not the M3U playlist URL.
A working cast session needs a discoverable receiver and a stream format supported by both the app and receiver.
With casting, browsing the guide may remain on your mobile device rather than appearing on the TV. Confirm the controls you need before choosing this method for everyday viewing.
UK guide times: set the device to the correct local time zone, normally Europe/London for UK viewing. Allow automatic daylight-saving changes and refresh the EPG if listings are an hour out.
Chromecast with Google TV can run supported TV apps, while older casting-only models receive media from a compatible source app.
| Check | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Google TV model | Install the player through Apps or Search. | Use the remote to navigate and manage the playlist on the TV. |
| Casting-only model | Install a Cast-enabled player on the phone or tablet. | Google Home alone is not an IPTV playlist player, and the receiver cannot install an Android APK. |
| Discovery failure | Check the same home network, Local Network permission and guest isolation. | An iPhone can play video locally while being unable to discover the receiver. |

Extra devices, recording and simultaneous streams can have different connection requirements; a player licence does not increase the VocoTV account allowance.
Your model, source, player and display must support the requested resolution. A 4K television alone does not make a stream 4K. Read our IPTV internet speed guide and test connection stability at the receiver.
Native Cast playback and mirroring the entire phone screen are different workflows. Mirroring may add delay and can expose notifications. Use the app’s supported playback method and test it with your actual content.
Your simultaneous connection allowance depends on your VocoTV plan. Check your order details before adding another screen, recording or using multiview. Use the access details supplied for your account; a player licence does not add service connections.
Chromecast diagnosis starts by separating receiver discovery from stream playback. A missing Cast target calls for local-network and app-permission checks; a visible receiver with failed video calls for player, stream-format and account checks.
Check whether the specific app version supports Google Cast for your content. Update the app where available. If it only supports native TV playback or AirPlay, a different compatible player or viewing method is needed.
Check power, network and local-network permissions on the source device. Avoid a guest network that isolates devices. Restart the app and receiver before changing router settings.
The receiver may not support the stream format or the app’s Cast implementation may be limited. Compare another channel and report the exact model, app and failing content. Do not assume every playable phone video is cast-compatible.
Compare another stream, check Wi-Fi near the TV and pause heavy downloads. Follow our IPTV buffering checklist to separate connection issues from app or source problems.
Restart the app and review available storage and updates. Keep access details before clearing data or reinstalling, because those actions can remove saved playlists and preferences.
Check where the chosen app displays its guide and whether it supports the supplied data. Allow the initial update to finish and verify the local time zone. Missing listings can vary by channel.
Make support requests specific: send your Chromecast model, player name, phone operating system if casting, the affected stream and the time of the issue. Keep full playlist URLs and passwords private.
Google TV installation, Google Cast and screen mirroring are different features; the player must support the method you intend to use.
For Chromecast with Google TV, install a compatible TV player and add the assigned VocoTV service details on that device. For a casting-only Chromecast, add the service to a supported Cast-enabled phone or tablet app, connect the receiver and source to the same home network and start casting. Test the exact app and stream; Android TV support alone does not confirm Cast support.
No. Chromecast with Google TV has an app interface for installing supported TV apps. Casting-only Chromecast models do not offer the same app-installation workflow; the source app runs on another compatible device.
Check Hot Player first, followed by IBO Player Pro. TiviMate and Smarters Pro are alternatives where compatible. Availability and features depend on the app version and device. TV app support does not automatically establish mobile Google Cast support.
Do not assume so from its Android TV availability. Check whether your exact mobile app version supports Google Cast and test the intended stream. If no supported Cast function is available, choose another compatible app or a different viewing device.
On Chromecast with Google TV, enter the link in the installed player or its official playlist-management website. With a casting-only Chromecast, enter it in the compatible source app on your phone or tablet. There is no general M3U field in Google Home.
Yes, when the chosen player supports it and you received those credentials. Enter the server URL, username and password separately. For casting, the app must also support sending that content to the receiver.
A normal Google TV store installation does not require Downloader. It is an optional APK route only for compatible Chromecast with Google TV devices. Downloader codes do not install Android apps on casting-only Chromecast models.
Check that the receiver is powered on and connected, the source app supports Google Cast, and both devices are on the same suitable network. Guest-network isolation or missing local-network permissions can prevent discovery. Restart the app and consult Google’s troubleshooting instructions.
Use an iOS app that supports Google Cast for the intended content. An AirPlay-only button does not establish Chromecast support. Allow local-network access if requested and connect to the same network as the receiver.
No. Resolution support depends on the Chromecast model, content source, player and display. A Chromecast with Google TV HD does not become a 4K device through an app setting. Test the actual source and your connection before expecting 4K playback.
The programme guide is handled by the player on your Google TV device or casting source. Supported accounts can load listings automatically; M3U setups may require a separate EPG URL. Ask VocoTV support for the correct details if listings are missing.
Your simultaneous connection allowance depends on your VocoTV plan. Check your order details before adding another screen, recording or using multiview. Use the access details supplied for your account; a player licence does not add service connections.
Test your exact app and playback method first, then choose the subscription duration and device allowance that fit your household.
